Big Bang

WikiSummarizer facilitates understanding by making key ideas VISIBLE.

This post presents Visual Summary and Keyword Cloud about Big Bang based on a Wikipedia article.

Big Bang

According to the Big Bang theory, the Universe was once in an extremely hot and dense state which expanded rapidly.
According to the most recent measurements and observations, the Big Bang occurred approximately 13.75 billion years ago, which is thus considered the age of the Universe.
After its initial expansion from a singularity, the Universe cooled sufficiently to allow energy to be converted into various subatomic particles, including protons, neutrons, and electrons.
The Big Bang is a well-tested scientific theory which is widely accepted within the scientific community because it is the most accurate and comprehensive explanation for the full range of phenomena astronomers observe.
The framework for the Big Bang model relies on Albert Einstein's general relativity and on simplifying assumptions such as homogeneity and isotropy of space.
Cosmologists now have fairly precise and accurate measurements of many of the parameters of the Big Bang model, and have made the unexpected discovery that the expansion of the Universe appears to be accelerating.
A combination of observations and theory suggest that the first quasars and galaxies formed about a billion years after the Big Bang, and since then larger structures have been forming, such as galaxy clusters and superclusters

Web 2.0

WikiSummarizer facilitates understanding by making key ideas VISIBLE.

This post presents Visual Summary and Keyword Cloud about Web 2.0 based on a Wikipedia article.

Web 2.0
keyword cloud (a typical Web 2.0 phenomenon in itself) presenting Web 2.0 themes

Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is a loosely defined intersection of web application features that facilitate participatory information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design, and collaboration on the World Wide Web.

A Web 2.0 site allows users to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue as creators (prosumers) of user-generated content in a virtual community, in contrast to websites where users (consumers) are limited to the passive viewing of content that was created for them
Examples of Web 2.0 include social networking sites, blogswikisvideo sharing sites, hosted services, web applications, mashups and folksonomies.
Although the term suggests a new version of the World Wide Web, it does not refer to an update to any technical specification, but rather to cumulative changes in the ways software developers and end-users use the Web.
Whether Web 2.0 is qualitatively different from prior web technologies has been challenged by World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee, who called the term a "piece of jargon", precisely because he intended the Web in his vision as "a collaborative medium, a place where we [could] all meet and read and write".
Web 2.0 sites may have an "Architecture of participation" that encourages users to add value to the application as they use it.

A library is an organized collection of books, other printed materials, and in some cases special materials such as manuscripts, films and other sources of information.

The first libraries consisted of archives of the earliest form of writing - the clay tablets in cuneiform script discovered in Sumer, some dating back to 2600 BC.
There is also evidence of libraries at Nippur about 1900 BC and at Nineveh about 700 BC showing a library classification system.
In addition to providing materialslibraries also provide the services of librarians who are experts at finding and organizing information and at interpreting information needs.

Libraries often provide public facilities for access to their electronic resources and the Internet.
Many institutions make a distinction between a "circulation" or "lending library", (usually a public library where materials are expected and intended to be loaned to patrons, institutions, or other libraries) and a "research" or "reference library" (where the materials are selected on a basis of their natures or subject matter, and are usually not lent out).
